The GE Corometrics 259cx is an advanced system used for monitoring the health of both the mother and fetus during pregnancy and childbirth. This unit is designed to provide healthcare professionals with innovative features that ensure a high-quality birthing experience and improved patient care. The GE Corometrics 250 series offers comprehensive monitoring of uterine and fetal activity, including fetal heart rate, as well as enhanced maternal monitoring features such as temperature, oxygen saturation, ECG, and non-invasive blood pressure.

By utilizing the Corometrics 259CX Fetal Monitor, healthcare providers can access detailed information in real-time during labor and delivery, enhancing their ability to provide a positive birthing experience for both the mother and baby. This medical device is equipped with a color LCD display that simultaneously shows fetal and maternal parameters, along with maternal waveforms. On the front of the unit, there is a recorder that prints continuous trends and alphanumeric data on a strip chart.

The GE Corometrics 259CX is compatible with Centricity Perinatal Clinical Information Systems and other information systems, allowing for streamlined capture and archiving of patient data. The 250cx model supports two fetal heart rate (FHR) channels, uterine activity monitoring (TOCO or IUP), maternal non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP), maternal pulse oximetry (MSpO2), fetal ECG (FECG), and maternal ECG (MECG).

The back of the GE fetal monitoring system is equipped with various input and output ports for data and power management. These ports include a Telemetry Connector, Data Entry Connector, Nurse Call System, Central Systems Connector, External VGA Connector, Communication Connectors, ECG Out Connector, Fetal Acoustic Stimulator Connector, Remote Event Marker Connector, and a Power Inlet Module.

Upon powering up the GE Corometrics 259CX Fetal Monitor, the unit automatically performs multiple tests to verify the system's memory, processor, and voltage levels before entering normal operation mode. The pulse oximetry module is also tested and calibrated automatically during power-up or whenever the unit is reset.
